Quote of the Day - Cat Grant - Once a Marine

I know this is a little of of charactor for the Quote of the Day but when I read this I had to share.

I am currently reading Cat Grants - Once a Marine

I only started reading this today so I'm only about a third of the way through but have came across one of the funniest lines I have read in a while and thought I should share it with you all.

This is the MC describing sex with the other MC the Marine:

"He had the most amazing stamina of any guy I'd ever been with. It was like being fucked by the love child of Superman and the Energizer Bunny."

I have to admit that it was not an simile I had never heard or even thought of before. But nonetheless quite interesting in and of itself. I can just imagine a fanfic of Superman and his life after having a family with the Energizer Bunny. There have been a couple of mpreg stories I have read with a pregnant bunny. Might be something to think about....

Book of the Week (the Gordon Challenge)

I am hoping to start something new and try and stay with it this time **sheepish shrug**

Every Sunday I will post My Book of the Week.

Previously I had planned to rate all the books I read as I read them, unfortunately, I read so many that it is just impossible to get through rating them all and posting all the information for each one. Therefore from now on I will be picking my favourite book from the list of books I read that week and posting about that one.

I will list the books I have read that week with a link to its details on Goodreads as what can I say, GR is awesome!

Hopefully it will also give me the incentive to actually go through my GR shelf and start clearing out my “Currently-Reading” shelf considering I have approximately 90 books on the shelf even though I have actually finished them.

**Opps**

So here’s to hoping this will work. Please let me know what you all think about my choices.

I think I will call this the Gordon Challenge to myself, in honor of the new member of my family; Gordo Gekco (yes I know he’s a bearded dragon but my fiancé has always wanted a lizard to name after Gordon Gekco from Wall Street. Do you think they look alike?

The little redhead sitting one booth over looks good enough to roll around in the back of his truck with—until the smell hits him and he discovers the redhead is his mate.

Author: Joyee Flynn

My Review:
This is one steamy book! I love it!
Dr Cameron really hasn't a clue what he is getting himself in for when he agrees to head up into the mountains to a small community of puppy shifters. He wants to help them, stop them from dying out due to disease. He is evious of the relationship between his friend and Randalls mate but doesn't think that he will ever find someone. Until he meets Quaid.
Quiad has secrets he is ashamed of and even though he has found and claimed his mate it is still not easy for him. He has a hard time trying to explain himself as he has never told anyone his secrets before so when the time comes for him to it doesn't happen the way he had expected.
Between the secrets and mis-understandings, things don't go well for either Quaid or Cameron. Can they find what they are both looking for in eachother before their hearts fall apart completely?

The story between Cameron and Quaid is the age old argument of not listening to one another and not giving them time to explain before conclusions are jumped to.

Gay Man's First and Only Time With a Woman, Gabrielle Evans - The Moonlight Breed 1 - Leap of Faith

When I read this in Gabrielle Evans - The Moonlight Breed 1 - Leap of Faith, I swear I nearly fell off of the couch laughing.
This is an extract from Gabrielle Evan's Leap of Faith which can be purchased from: BookStrand.

Gabrielle, you are amazing, props on this excellent piece of writing!

“What about you, Braxton? Ever been with a girl?” Logan teased.
Talon and Boston stopped on their way out of the room and turned to hear his reply. Xander couldn’t blame them. Judging from his mate’s flaming red cheeks, and the way he had his head ducked, this was going to be good.
“Once,” Braxton mumbled.
“Spill it,” Jackson demanded, grabbing a kitchen chair and turning it backward to straddle it. He rested his chin on his folded hands over the back of the chair and stared at Braxton expectantly.
Braxton sighed. “Long story short, we got naked, and I couldn’t get it up. I panicked, and decided going down on her seemed like the best course of action. Obviously, I didn’t have a clue about what I was doing. It’s not like with guys, you know…not at all self-explanatory,” he stated indignantly. “Anyway, she seemed to be enjoying it until…” Braxton trailed off, looking sheepish.
“So, what happened?” Boston urged.
“I bit her. Just a little nip, ya know.”
Everyone just stared in shock before bursting into laughter. Xander tightened his arms around Braxton’s midsection in support, though he, too, was laughing.
“Yeah, it shocked her, too.” Braxton blushed again. “So much, in fact, she yelled, which scared the shit out of her cat that was hiding under the bed. The cat took off like a rocket, hissing and shrieking, which scared her. She jumped and kneed me in the face.” He rolled his eyes and chuckled. “Split my lip open, blood went everywhere. Completely accidental, of course, but the poor girl was so embarrassed, she ran into the bathroom and locked herself in. It took me close to an hour to talk her out.”

Dedication

I am just starting a new book by Kim Dare, Thrown to the Lions 03 - Ellery’s Duty. I don't normally read the dedications on books and the pages before the first chapter starts, I know I should but I just always seem to skip them except for this time for some reason I can't explain. But I have to say that I'm glad I did. This is what it said:

"To everyone who knows that who you really are, is far more important than who you are supposed to be."

It seems much more poinent than the usual 'Always be yourself' or when someone tells you what you are isn't want they want you to be or do.
It just struck me as a really good phrase that everyone should read/hear.
